Last time, only those who are wealth will buy gold bullion and keep it as investment but nowadays, more and more people realized the fact that gold price will never go down and only will go up and thus, more and more people buy gold in form of ingot or coin and then keep it as investment. Coins are more popular as they have a currency value or they are actually defined as ingots but ingots came in of pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape.
Nowadays, the gold are design in many shape and sizes and gold had been a fashion design wear for all. Many women like gold as their accessories and some even keep them as collection. Well, its good as as they collect, they are collecting value!
Silver bullion also a hit nowadays but compare with gold, the value is lesser but if the value is lesser how come the US government buy silver bullion in bulk? Hmm, what a question..i really with to know the answer.
