Before buying this house which I am living now, We have trouble with some termite problem as we noticed that some of the wooden part such as the window side and the staircase which looked like sign of being eaten by termite so without wasting time, we went and call for the specialist to come over for a throughout termite inspections! Well as what people said, prevention are always better than cure. It's better for me to find the colony, kill them before I do any renovation and then only start with the problem all over again. Right?
